Focus on what truly works and stop wasting time on ineffective strategies. Many Realtors® fall into the trap of making changes to their websites that don’t actually drive business, and in some cases, these changes can even harm their engagement and reduce leads.

Myth 1: “Domains with Great Keywords Will Rank High!”

Contrary to popular belief, stuffing keywords into your domain name like “VancouverLuxuryHomes.com” won’t boost your Google ranking. Google deprioritized keyword-heavy domains because they were often linked to poor-quality sites. Instead, focus on creating memorable, brand-aligned domains that are short and easy to print, such as your name or a niche neighborhood.

Myth 2: “If I Build It, They Will Come!”

A shiny new website alone won’t attract visitors. Without SEO or PPC, your traffic is limited to referrals, social media links, or direct traffic from signs and ads. Most websites don’t get traffic just by existing — you need a strategy to drive visitors.
